The Nahr el Bared Relief Campaign was spontaneously formed following the tragic events in Nahr el Bared Camp and organizes on behalf of those not getting NGO aid. We are made up of a grouping of unaffiliated individuals, including students, professors, and activists working on relief and civil action to end the violence and offer aid to those injured and displaced due to the Nahr el Bared conflict.

If you would like to help out with the relief work being done, you can either:

* Volunteer: Any volunteering support from individuals or societies and clubs is more than welcome, as teams of volunteers are already working on the ground to assist in the relief efforts. Please use our contact page to get in touch with our volunteer coordinators.

* Donate in-kind supplies: Drop offs can be made at Teh-Marboota Cafe, Pavillion Center, Hamra main road. An updated list of needed items can be found here.

* Donate money: For more information, click here.

We are planning psychosocial activities for the kids who came from Nahr Elbared to Shatila camp with the help of two experts. We as need many volunteers as possible to help. If you are interested or know
anyone who is, please contact me as soon as possible. There will be a meeting tomorrow Monday June 4, 2007 in Ta Marbouta @ 6:00pm concerning that. Whoever is interested can join the meeting.

For more information please contact Bahaa AlKayyali- 70975941

Burj al Barajneh is requesting toilet paper as well as gas tanks for families to help relieve the burden of housing 30-40 people in private homes.

We are in need of food items: macaroni, rice, and canned foods. We are also requesting clothes. We only have enough for about 50 families at the moment. We especially need conservative clothing and would love for people to donate abayas for the women of Nahr el Bared. If people could mobilize the umma to donate these items, in good or new condition, that would be wonderful.

The Shefa' Clinic in Bedawi has critical needs with respect to medicine. As of yesterday they were on the verge of closing their doors within 48 hours because they did not have enough medicine to continue their work. We supplied them with critical, urgent medicine, but they have a number of other needs that must be filled. Please see attached file for a list of their specific medicine needs.

This is an interview conducted by two of our volunteers from a doctor with family from Nahr el Bared refugee camp. There are two files attached: one in Arabic and one in English.

For the past 800 and some odd days in Lebanon, especially in Rafiq Hariri strongholds, there have been signs counting the days until "the truth" (al-haqiqa) is learned about Hariri's assassination (in other words, until Syria can be blamed). This "truth" seems to be the only one that matters in Lebanon right now.
